Degree Show Promotion: The Graphic Design Spectacle 2011
Brief: Brand and create promotional materials for the Nottingham Trent University Graphic Design BA third years Degree Show, 2011.
Solution: I based the Degree Show theme around the concept of ‘The Graphic Design Spectacle 2011’, playing on the theme of glasses and optometry. The concept involves ideas for both the physical environment at the show and promotional materials.
The invites for both the Private View and Celebration Evening consist of a set, including a case, glasses (colour-coded to the event) and ‘cleaning cloth’ printed with details of the exhibition. The glasses themselves feature the most basic details of their respective Views, and would act as the physical invitation to be presented on the door of the exhibition, where they could be worn, accessorised with or used as a bookmark by their recipient.
The Degree Show catalogue and website are designed with eye-chart-esque features while the spectacle theme would permeate the actual show display, with large glasses constructed to act as frames for table structures and to host screens for digital and motion displays.
